Regina hairdresser charged with sexually assaulting 13-year-old boy

Regina police have charged 42-year-old Romeo Barnat Morales with sexually assaulting a 13-year-old boy.

Regina police have charged a 42-year-old man with sexually assaulting a 13-year-old boy and say there could potentially be other alleged victims.

Romeo Barnat Morales is charged with sexual assault on a person under 16 years of age and sexual interference.

Police said the alleged assault happened Aug. 6 at a business in the 3800 block of Sherwood Drive, where the Regent Park Hair Salon is located.

The salon's manager Rekha Jain said Morales had rented a space from her, but was not an employee at the salon, adding he no longer works there, nor is he welcome.

Jain said the salon will continue to take clients, as they have other qualified staff members who are ready to work and take care of people coming in for service.

The salon has noted on Facebook that Morales no longer works at the location.

 

Morales is scheduled appear in court on these charges on Sept. 30.
