Regina police charge 2nd man in New Year's Eve homicide

Regina police have charged another man with second-degree murder in the death of Delvin Charles Mike, 26, who died in hospital after being found critically injured in North Central on New Year's Eve.

Regina police have charged another man with second-degree murder in the death of Delvin Charles Mike, 26, who died in hospital after being found critically injured in North Central on New Year's Eve.

Owen Maurice Pelletier, 30, was arrested on Friday night in the 1500 block of Athol Street. Police said Pelletier was also in possession of what they believe to be cocaine and is also facing drug-related charges.

He is scheduled to appear in court on Monday.

Police found Mike critically injured on the 1100 block of Robinson Drive in the early morning hours of Dec. 31, 2012. Emergency crews tried to resuscitate him, but he was pronounced dead in hospital a short time later.

On Wednesday police also charged Nathaniel Thomas Elk, 36, from the Fort Qu'Appelle area with second-degree murder in connection with Mike's death.
