Fire in book drop shuts down Regina Public Library
Temporary book drop set up in front of Central Library on Lorne Street

The Regina Public Library says it had to close its downtown location following a fire on Tuesday morning.
The RPL's Central and Children's Branch is located at 2311 12th Avenue.
According to the RPL, a fire was set in the Central Library's book drop and caused damage to the main lobby.
Fire crews were able to contain the fire to the main lobby of the building.
The extent of the damage is not yet known.
As firefighters continue to investigate, the library has been closed until further notice. Officials are not sure whether it will reopen on Tuesday.
"We are disappointed this has occurred, and has affected our services to the public," Library Board Chair Darryl Lucke said. "The safety of patrons, staff and the local community is our top concern, so it's important we fully assess the situation before determining next steps."
The RPL said they have set up a temporary book drop in front of Central Library on Lorne Street.
