Saskatchewan music fans will be getting an early Christmas present this year.

Saskatchewan music fans will be getting an early Christmas present this year.

Legendary funk-rocker Prince will be making a stop in Saskatoon as part of his coast-to-coast, 10 city, Welcome 2 Canada tour.

He'll be playing at the Credit Union Centre on Dec. 11.

It's Prince's first stop in Saskatchewan since he performed in Regina on Jun. 3, 2002.

Prince has released more than 30 albums of rock, funk, soul and R&B since 1978.

The flamboyant musician's hits include When Doves Cry, Purple Rain, Let's Go Crazy and Little Red Corvette.

Ticket prices haven't been announced yet, but tickets go on sale Nov. 4 through Ticketmaster and LiveNation.com.
