Paul McCartney to perform in Regina
70-year-old rocker will also play in Winnipeg
Legendary rocker Paul McCartney will come to Regina for the first time this summer, concert officials announced Monday.
The ex-Beatle hits Mosaic Stadium on Aug. 14 as part of his "Out There" tour, which will also touch down in Winnipeg.
"When you see that many people singing those songs, and those are songs that everybody has sung with their dad and their kid and their grandma and everybody, then the whole place comes up," said Paul Haagenson, president of Live Nation Canada.
"Especially if you’re going to get a nice, warm summer night, the whole place just really is something else."
The 70-year-old musician will be performing songs spanning his career from his work with the Beatles and Wings to his work as a solo artist.
The tour will visit places of historical significance to McCartney as well as new venues around the world.
In 2012, McCartney marked 40 years as a solo artist and was named MusiCares Person of the Year.
Tickets go on sale April 29 and will range in price from $35 to $250 — including GST, but not service charges.
