'Move-up buyers' did well in Regina and Saskatoon, real estate report says
A report by a real estate company says home owners in Regina and Saskatoon who have moved on to different homes have done very well, compared to the rest of Canada.
The Re/Max report on so-called move-up buyers found that Regina buyers gained the most on the sale of their existing home relative to other markets.
Saskatoon move-up buyers were next.
One real estate broker from Re/Max attributed the finding to a strong provincial economy.
"Saskatchewan is very sought after, families are moving back to the province, a lot of people are moving back to the province," Ron Baliski, in Saskatoon, said. "People are confident, interest rates are low."
The report also notes that many properties currently listed in Saskatoon may be overpriced.
