MD Ambulance said the victim is 42 and received second- and third-degree burns.
Fire crews were called to the home at 706 Avenue O South at around 10:40 a.m. CST.
After pulling the unconscious man from the building, firefighter-paramedics applied CPR for about five minutes.
He began to move and then was taken to hospital.
