The place where the Saskatchewan Roughriders play is getting a new name.

On Friday, the team announced the building previously known as Taylor Field will be renamed Mosaic Stadium.

The Mosaic Company, which operates a number of potash mines in Saskatchewan, has purchased naming rights for $3.75 million.

The City of Regina named the stadium Taylor Field in 1947, after player, coach and team executive Neil "Piffles" Taylor.

The Taylor family gave its blessing to Friday's renaming, the team said in a news release.

Officials said at the announcement that the playing field inside the stadium would still be known as Taylor Field.

It's the second time this month a well-known Regina institution has received a new name through a corporate deal.

The Ipsco steel company said it was giving $2.5 million to Regina Exhibition Place, home of agricultural events and the annual Buffalo Days fair. The new name of the grounds changed to Ipsco Place.
