Several employees of a Regina-area factory needed medical attention Tuesday following an accident involving chemicals.

It happened shortly before 9 a.m. CST at the Seed Master plant in White City, just east of Regina.

CBC News has been told that some workers were working with an acid-based stainless steel cleaning solution that they'd never used before.

They poured it into a barrel, creating a cloud of vapour.

Some workers inhaled the gas and needed to be treated by emergency workers.

Production at the plant has been shut down and the shop has been cleared.

No one was seriously hurt.
