Body found at site of Regina house fire

Regina police say a person's body has been found at the site of a large fire last Wednesday in the 1500 block of McTavish Street.

Regina police say a person's body has been found at the site of a large fire that happened last Wednesday. 

The fire broke out at a home at 1555 McTavish St. at 3:29 a.m. CST on Oct. 5, just east of Pasqua Hospital.

The body wasn't found during the initial search of the home, with extreme heat and structural instability being a problem, according to police.  

Officials said four people were living in the house at the time. 

The coroner's office is conducting an autopsy to identify the person. The gender of the deceased person is not yet known. 

The home is currently being held as a potential crime scene. The damage was described as a total loss.
