3 people killed in head-on crash south of Regina
Crash happened between a pick-up truck and a car 16 km south of city on Highway 6
The RCMP are investigating after a head-on crash on crash on Highway 6 south of Regina has left three people dead Wednesday evening.
Police said a southbound black pick-up truck and a northbound grey sedan crashed near the Estlin, Sask. turnoff about 16 kilometres outside Regina at about 6:30 p.m. CST.
A woman driver was alone in the pick-up truck, while a woman driver and a male passenger were in the sedan.
All three were pronounced dead at the scene.
A CBC reporter at the scene said two vehicles could be seen on the highway on their side. Officials from the Coroner's office were also on scene.
The identities of the people killed have not been released pending contact with their families.
Police have blocked off the area, and said officers will remain on scene until midnight Wednesday.
Highway 6 is being diverted on each side of the collision. Police are asking drivers to avoid the area if possible, or expect delays.
