Some moments of mayhem in the village of Quill Lake, Sask., have left two men recovering from gunshot wounds and two more in police custody.

The RCMP said around 11 p.m. on Wednesday, they received a call of an armed robbery at a business in the community of 400 people.

Upon arriving, police learned that two men entered the establishment — one armed with a rifle and the other with a crowbar.

There was an altercation. One of the suspects shot two rounds into the ceiling and then shot one man in the leg and another man in the back.

The two suspects then took a case of beer and fled the scene.

A STARS ambulance took the two wounded men to hospital with undetermined injuries.

About an hour later, a half-ton pick-up truck believed to been involved in the robbery crashed into a business in Watson.

RCMP arrested one man at the scene, but a second suspect ran away.

A second person was found in a field on the outskirts of town and arrested around 1 a.m. CST.
