Riders go for Moore

The Saskatchewan Roughriders were the lone team to take advantage of the 2001 CFL supplemental draft, selecting non-import offensive lineman Andrew Moore.

To select the six-foot-five, 210-pounder, the Roughriders gave up their first-round pick in the 2002 CFL Canadian college draft.

Moore, a 28-year-old from Sonoma State, has played in the World League (now known as NFL Europe) with the Frankfurt Galaxy and the Scottish Claymores.

He spent last season with the New England Sea Wolves of the Arena League.

The supplemental draft is intended to allow CFL teams to pick players who fell through the cracks of the regular draft procedure, a league spokesman explained.
