Rams add Baker from Colts
The Indianapolis Colts traded punter John Baker to the Super Bowl-champion St. Louis Rams for an undisclosed draft pick.
Baker, an undrafted rookie from the University of North Texas, had seven punts in four exhibition games for a 43.6 yard average.
His longest was a 56-yarder and his net punting average was 34.1.
Baker was signed in an effort to push last year's punter Hunter Smith, who averaged 48.2 yards and netted 41.7 in 10 punts during the preseason.
The Colts will still have to cut 14 more players to reach the NFL league limit of 53 by Sunday afternoon.
