MacLauchlan will be joined by the Canada Games Council at Credit Union Place in Summerside on Thursday.

The Canada Summer Games were last held in P.E.I. in 2009. The last time the Canada Winter Games were held on the Island was 1991.

The 2017 Summer Games are scheduled to be held in Winnipeg, and the 2019 Winter Games will be held in Red Deer, Alta. — meaning if the games are to be held on the Island it won't be before 2021.
