P.E.I. web series sees early success

Some Island filmmakers are pleased with the early reaction to a web video series they posted on YouTube earlier this month.
Jeremy and Jason Larter and Geoff Rhead have posted seven episodes of their series Just Passing Through, a comedy about two Island men who crash at their cousin's house in Toronto. The series went up last week and there have been about 100,000 views on the seven episodes.
Jeremy Larter said the series has been very popular with Islanders.
"For Prince Edward Island, it's not very often that you get to see yourself in a project like this," he said.
"I think that it resonated with Islanders especially because it's like, 'Hey, that's us up there,' or it's like, 'I know a guy like that.'"
The web series got a shout-out on Twitter from well-known Canadian actor Jay Baruchel.
Larter hopes the series will eventually get picked up by a broadcaster.
