P.E.I. tourism contest geared to attract visitors
It has launched a new contest called PEI Bound. The prize is a nine-day trip for four people in a P.E.I.-themed RV, said Brenda Gallant, head of marketing for Tourism Prince Edward.
"We're going to be giving them a little taste of Prince Edward Island as they're driving towards Prince Edward Island. So the vacation doesn't just begin in P.E.I.," she said.
"We want to tease them a little bit a long the way. So they'll have a culinary experience, a cultural experience and a little bit of golf as well."
The RV, which comes with a chauffeur, has been touring Ontario for the past week promoting the province and the contest.
So far, the number of Facebook friends has increased to more than10,000 from 6,500, Gallant said.
The RV was also featured on Entertainment Tonight Canada.
The PEI Bound winners will be chosen on June 19.
