Oysters focus of North Cape tourism
Tourism in North Cape is rebranding itself as the Canadian Oyster Coast.
The brand will be used in its marketing material, including the website and tourism guide.
"It speaks to culinary, culture of the sea, history. I've had a lot of discussions with oyster growers and producers and they're very excited to have their brand showcased," said Mitchell Rennie, tourism manager the North Cape Drive Tourism Area Partnership.
While the area lighthouses are still a part of the coastal drive and the logo, Rennie said the rebranding process was more in the fact the area didn't have an established brand.
"In terms of operators, hopefully by highlighting the other aspects we have in the area, we can convert them to a travelling public, so we can get them into our beds and staying longer in our area."
