Charlottetown transit tallies record month
July was a record month for passenger traffic on transit in Charlottetown, says the owner of T3.
Mike Cassidy told CBC News Monday bus ridership in the city is continuing to grow.
"It has been our best summer ever," Cassidy told CBC News Monday.
"July we topped 33,000 passenger fares for the month, and that was a 17 per cent increase from the previous year."
Many summer and day care camps are now using the bus service, said Cassidy, and it remains a popular option for international students. Cassidy launched the T3 bus service in 2005.
Cassidy said his inter-city coach service, Maritime Bus, is also enjoying good P.E.I. numbers this summer. He noted in particular, package delivery from P.E.I. to Alberta is brisk.
