Centennial celebrates 100 years of incorporation
Alberton, P.E.I. will unfurl its new centennial flag on Sunday, celebrating 100 years of incorporation.

To commemorate the event, the West Prince town had a contest to design the new flag.
Kelly Gillis' design was chosen.
It's a green background with a circled "A" and silver fox.
Alberton Mayor Mike Murphy said it's important for the community to celebrate these type of events.
"To show how the town has grown, where it came from 100 years up until now," said Murphy. "And it's important to the people, I think. It's just municipal pride. Alberton's a very neat little town and it's in the heart of West Prince."
The flag will be raised for the first time on Sunday at 2 p.m. at the town hall celebration.
