Prince Edward Islanders getting a new licence plate can now choose from five special conservation plates.

The plates have the same background of the new single-design plates, but have an image of one of five iconic species on the right hand side.

      • Blue jay.
      • Canada goose.
      • Lady slipper.
      • Red fox.
      • Speckled trout.

The plates cost $10, and the money will go to the P.E.I. Wildlife Conservation Fund. People and groups can apply to the government fund, which is administered by the Island Nature Trust, for money for education, research or wildlife and habitat restoration projects.
