2nd vacant house fire investigation handed to RCMP
Single-family home near Belfast in flames
A second vacant house fire in the past week on P.E.I. has been handed to the RCMP for further investigation.
Deputy Fire Marshal Robert Arsenault could not determine the cause of the fire in an abandoned single-family dwelling near Belfast Wednesday afternoon.
He has called in the RCMP to investigate.
The fire happened at about 4:30 p.m. on the Selkirk Road.
Firefighters were able to contain a subsequent grass fire before it spread beyond the property.
This is the second vacant house fire investigation that has been turned over to the RCMP in the past week.
The fire marshal's office asked police to look into a fire at an abandoned house in Mount Pleasant that broke out last Saturday.
