Rideau-Goulbourn has a population of 29.446 people living in 10,445 homes.

It'll be an interesting race to watch in Rideau-Goulbourn, where incumbent Scott Moffatt's former employee is the only person running against him.

Moffatt was first elected in 2010, and in the 2014 election he captured 62 per cent of the vote.

This time he's facing only one challenger, David Brown, who worked in Moffatt's office before deciding to run against him. Brown is also president of the Richmond Agricultural Society.

Big issues in rural Rideau-Goulbourn include suburban development spilling in from Stittsville and Barrhaven and cropping up in villages like Richmond.
