Rideau Centre power restored following Monday outage
Business at the Rideau Centre has resumed following a power outage that forced stores in the mall to close on Monday afternoon.
Stores were forced to close Monday afternoon; power restored overnight

The power went out at about 3 p.m. By 4:30 p.m., store managers were told to send their employees home because the outage would last into the night.
Power was restored to the mall overnight at about 2:40 a.m.
Some parts of the ByWard Market also experienced the outage on Monday, but power was more quickly restored there.
The longer mall outage was caused by a faulty hydro vault underneath the Rideau Centre, a spokesperson for the mall said on Tuesday morning.
It was not related to ongoing construction to renovate the mall.
