CBC's listeners and viewers helped raise a total of $151,786.46 for the Ottawa Food Bank this year as part of Project Give, the station's annual charity fundraiser.

CBC had originally announced a total of $144,786.46 but a last-minute donation of $7,000 put the station over the $150,000 mark.

About 175 pounds of food was also collected at the  St. Laurent Loblaws and the CBC lobby.

On Friday, CBC Ottawa's radio shows — Ottawa Morning and All In a Day —  and the supper-hour TV news featured special programming dedicated to food bank-related issues.

That day about $120,000 was raised with the other $31,000 and change came in by Sunday night's deadline.
