Five people were treated for injuries after a serious crash Friday night near Consecon, Ont., Ontario Provincial Police say.

Police were called to the area of County Road 1 and Alexander Road, southwest of Belleville, Ont., shortly after 9 p.m. Friday.

"There was definitely a large emergency response to this scene," said Bill Dickson, a spokesperson for the force.

"But I'd like to point out that there were no life-threatening injuries in this collision. So it was serious, but it could have been worse."
