Police seek help to find missing Ottawa man
Schizophrenic man has no money, ID or medication: police
Ottawa police are asking for help to find a man who suffers from schizophrenia, and has been missing from his south Ottawa home since Saturday.
Police say Abdulatif Salman, 25, is not capable of adequately caring for himself. He often bites his lower lip, talks to himself, and tends to look at the palm of his hands, police said.
Salman doesn't have any identification, money or medications, police said. He is drawn to places of worship, and is known to frequent the Hunt Club transit station and the Rideau Street area.
Police describe Salman as being of Middle Eastern descent, about six-feet tall, with short black hair, an unshaven face, brown eyes and a birth mark on his left cheek. He was last seen wearing sandals, grey jogging pants, a blue T-shirt, and a blue-grey plaid jacket with a hood.
Anyone who sees Salman is asked to call the Ottawa Police Service missing persons unit at 613-236-1222, extension 3726.
