Ottawa's last Grey Cup victory in 1976 relived
Ottawa Rough Riders defeated Saskatchewan Roughriders, 23-20, in Toronto more than 30 years ago
It's Grey Cup weekend, and while the Ottawa Redblacks never found their stride in their inaugural season, Our Ottawa decided to rewind to 1976.
That's the last time an Ottawa football team won the Grey Cup, the 64th, at Exhibition Stadium in Toronto.
The Ottawa Rough Riders edged the Saskatchewan Roughriders with a score of 23-20 in front of more than 53,000 fans, thanks to the biggest play in franchise history. That was, of course, when Tom Clements found Tony Gabriel in the back of the end-zone.
Watch the video above for a little Ottawa football nostalgia, narrated by our own Dan Séguin.
