An Ottawa woman who gave birth live over the internet early Sunday morning is now the proud mother of a healthy baby boy.

Nancy Salgueiro, 32, gave birth to Oziah at 3:18 a.m. ET Sunday with more than 2,000 people registered to watch online.

Oziah weighed six pounds, according to Salgueiro, who is a chiropractor and professional birth coach who promotes natural home births.

She set up a high-definition video camera in the living room of her south Ottawa home and hooked it up to her laptop.

Her husband, Mike Carreira, was by her side throughout the birth. Midwives arrived shortly after Salgueiro gave birth to help her through the post-partum process.

For those who missed the early morning event online, video of Salgueiro's early labour is available and needs the password "naturalbirthrocks."

The mother of three will also be re-streaming the home birth at 10 p.m. ET Monday and recording it in order to post it online permanently. The recording of the live birth had some technical difficulties, Salgueiro wrote on her website.
