Ottawa massage therapist charged with sexual assault
Police concerned there could be more victims after 74-year-old man charged
A 74-year-old massage therapist was charged after a woman reported she was sexually assaulted during an appointment at a downtown Ottawa spa on May 10, according to police.
The man was released from custody on a promise to appear in court after he was charged on Wednesday, Ottawa police said in a news release.
Police said there could be more victims but did not release the name of the spa where the woman reported she was sexually assaulted.
The College of Massage Therapists of Ontario, which sets standards for professional, safe and ethical care, said the man was not and has never been a registered massage therapist.
