Help Santa Toy Parade dashes through downtown Ottawa Saturday

The 47th annual Help Santa Toy Parade takes place from 11 a.m. to about 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. Here's everything you need to know, including road closures.

Parade begins Saturday at 11 a.m. and runs until 1:30 p.m.

The 47th annual Help Santa Toy Parade takes place from 11 a.m. to about 1:30 p.m. on Saturday.

The parade starts at the National Archives on Wellington Street and runs along Bank Street and Laurier Avenue to Ottawa City Hall.

Roads will be closed to accommodate the parade, and will and re-open as it passes. You can find a map of the road closures here.

Ottawa firefighters will collect new toys and cash donations along the parade route.

The weather forecast for Saturday might inspire some to peel off their big red coats, at least until the rain starts. Environment Canada is forecasting a high of 15 C with increasing cloudiness near noon, then periods of rain beginning late in the afternoon.
