Cyclist injured in Westboro charged with running red light

A cyclist taken to hospital following a collision west of Ottawa's core Monday night has been charged with failing to stop at a red light.

Police had closed the area around the intersection of Byron and Kirkwood avenues in Westboro, but they were open again by 5:30 a.m. (CBC)

A cyclist taken to hospital following a collision west of Ottawa's core Monday night has been charged with failing to stop at a red light.

Emergency crews were called around 10:30 p.m. Monday near the intersection of Byron and Kirkwood avenues. 

The 18-year-old man was taken to hospital in life-threatening condition, but was in serious, non-life threatening condition Tuesday morning, police said.
