Officers began first aid and the man was then taken to hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

He has since been identified as 42-year-old Jeffrey Claude Godin of Ottawa.

One suspect was arrested nearby and remained in custody late Wednesday afternoon, police said.

An autopsy took place Wednesday in Montreal, and the investigation is ongoing.
