Gatineau motorcyclist dies after head-on collision with car
Lorrain Boulevard closed in northeast Gatineau while police investigate
A 51-year-old woman is dead after a car crashed into the motorcycle she was driving on Lorrain Boulevard in northeast Gatineau on Thursday morning.
It happened between rue Thérèse and chemin de Chambord just before 5:30 a.m., Gatineau police said in a media release.
For reasons so far unknown, a car being driven north by a 19-year-old woman veered into the wrong lane and struck the motorcyclist, who was heading south.
The motorcyclist was taken to hospital with critical injuries and died, police said.
Lorrain Boulevard is closed while police investigate, and detours are in place.
