2 Gatineau homes damaged in overnight fire

A fire in Gatineau, Que., early Friday morning caused more than $130,000 in damage to two neighbouring homes, firefighters say.

A fire in Gatineau, Que., early Friday morning caused more than $130,000 in damage to two semi-detached homes, firefighters say.

The flames broke out on Jules Verne Street, near Highway 50 and Labrosse Boulevard in east Gatineau, at about 2 a.m.

Four people in the two homes managed to get out safely, Gatineau firefighters said.

Fire crews managed to bring the flames under control by about 4 a.m.

Damage is estimated at about $131,500 and no one was injured.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
