An early-morning fire has destroyed a house that was being renovated in Aylmer, firefighters say.

An early-morning fire has destroyed a one-storey home in northwest Gatineau that was being renovated. (CBC)

The blaze at 899 Cook St., near Klock and Pink roads, started at about 3 a.m. Thursday. When firefighters arrived, the house was fully engulfed in flames.

No one was inside the one-storey house at the time and no one was injured.

It took 19 firefighters to put out the flames. Crews remained on scene later Thursday morning to put out hot spots.

No other details were immediately available and an investigation is under way.
