Vanier apartment fire leaves 1 person with severe injuries
A person found in a Vanier apartment fire was taken to hospital Monday evening with severe injuries, Ottawa firefighters said.
Fire broke out shortly before 6 p.m. on Blake Boulevard
Firefighters rescued a person with serious injuries from a Vanier apartment fire Monday evening.
Ottawa Fire Services said they were called at 5:46 p.m. ET to a low-rise building at 388 Blake Blvd. after flames were seen coming from a second floor unit.
When firefighters searched the unit they found one person inside with what they described as "severe injuries."
The person was taken to hospital.
The fire was put out at shortly before 6 p.m. No other people were found in the apartment, fire officials said.
The cause of the fire is not yet known.
