Panelists
Abdullah Usman, Josh Murphy and Pearly Pouponneau are our panellists for the June 6 one year anniversary celebration. (CBC)

Calling himself "a product of clashing cultures and modern chaos" comic Abdullah Usman, aka "Ottawa's top comic" of 2019, says he draws humourous inspiration from his tales as a Pakistani immigrant, his experiences as a reluctant Gen-Zer, and his goofy societal observations. For CBC Ottawa's Creator Network, he brought viewers inside the joke-writing process, to tell how he navigates building material that embraces all parts of his identity.

As a visual learner with no formal education in filmmaking, Pembroke, Ont.'s Josh Murphy says he loves telling stories through images and challenging himself as an artist, both for his creative projects and for his work filming weddings and events. Alongside filmmaker Tys Burger, they've made two pieces for CBC Ottawa's Creator Network about a ghost story near their home town and a rumour about vampires and Polish-Kashubian identity.

From creative directing and producing to curating events, community builder and creative Pearly Pouponneau says she strives to creates one of a kind experiences to bring community, art and visions to life and is passionate about capturing a diverse range of art forms for commercial, industrial and editorial clients with a raw and provocative perspective. For CBC Ottawa's Creator Network, she told a very personal story of her complicated relationship with her dad.

On June 6, attendees will learn about video content creation at CBC Ottawa while celebrating the dynamic community of creators in Ottawa, eastern Ontario, and western Quebec.
