Westbound lanes of Highway 417 reopened after Sunday crash

An Ottawa man died and a second driver was injured after a serious two-car crash on Highway 417 Sunday afternoon, OPP said.
Bernard Clarke, 42, succumbed to his injuries in hospital following the crash, which happened around 12 p.m. near Woodroffe Avenue.
He had been sent to hospital in critical condition, paramedics said, after he was extricated from his vehicle. It had rolled over "multiple times" on the highway, firefighters said,
The 41-year-old driver of the second vehicle was taken to hospital in serious but stable condition, according to paramedics.
Wreckage from both cars could be seen on the side of the highway.
The westbound lanes of Highway 417 were closed but reopened just before 6 p.m. Sunday.
Both cars were travelling west when they collided, according to the OPP.
