2 children among 4 in hospital after east Ottawa crash

Ottawa paramedics say a seven-year-old girl and an eight-year-old boy were among four people rushed to hospital Saturday morning after a crash on Blair Road.

A seven-year-old girl and an eight-year-old boy were among four people rushed to hospital after a two-vehicle crash in Gloucester.

The crash happened at about 8:54 a.m. Saturday on Blair Road, just south of Ogilvie Road near the Highway 174 overpass.

Two vehicles were involved in the crash and one of them rolled, paramedics and fire officials said. Firefighters had to extricate a female driver from the vehicle that rolled.

From one vehicle, paramedics treated a 45-year-old woman with a back injury, as well as the eight-year-old boy with head and chest injuries and the seven-year-old girl with head and chest injuries.

The woman and the boy were taken to hospital in stable condition, but the girl was in serious condition.

A 44-year-old man in the other vehicle was taken to hospital in stable condition with back and neck injuries.

Ottawa police are investigating.
