Yarmouth stabbing sends man to hospital
20-year-old suffered non-life threatening injuries, 16-year-old in custody
A stabbing in Yarmouth Tuesday evening sent a Lunenburg County man to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Around 6 p.m. a 20-year-old man arrived at the Yarmouth Regional Hospital suffering from numerous stab wounds, some "serious," others superficial, said RCMP Staff Sgt. Kevin Surette.
After a preliminary investigation, police determined that the man had been stabbed at a home on Southeast Street.
Officers then went to the home and arrested a 16-year-old male without incident.
Police said the victim and suspect are known to each other.
The 16-year-old faces charges of aggravated assault and assault with a weapon and is scheduled to appear in court on Wednesday.
