A 22-year-old woman is in critical condition in Halifax after a hit-and-run incident early Sunday morning.

A 22-year-old woman is in critical condition in Halifax after a hit-and-run incident early Sunday morning.

The woman was walking home from a New Year’s Eve party at the Economy Community Centre, travelling along Highway 2 at around 1:30 a.m. when she was hit.

Police said the driver did not stop but the vehicle was located a short distance away in a ditch.

Investigators said the car was stolen from the community centre shortly before the collision.

RCMP have not made an arrest and are asking anyone with information to contact police.
