Woman dies after being struck in Williams Lake crosswalk

An 81-year-old woman has died after a car-pedestrian collision on Saturday in Spryfield.

A 71-year-old man was driving the vehicle involved in car-pedestrian crash

An 81-year-old woman has died after a car-pedestrian collision on Saturday in Spryfield.

The woman was in a marked crosswalk at the intersection of Williams Lake and Herring Cove roads at 3:40 p.m. Saturday when she was struck by a car driven by a 71-year-old man.

She died from her injuries Sunday in hospital.

Halifax Regional Police continue to investigate the crash. They say they do expect the driver to be charged, but are still deciding what the charges will be.
