Wind gusts damage boats at Cape Breton yacht club

Doug Millburn said he checked on his boat just as the storm hit, but it's hard to escape the forces of Mother Nature.

"It's heartbreaking. It sure wasn't what I was looking to get for Christmas, that's for sure. You know time will tell. I'll have to get it upright and looked underneath, but my guess is that it isn't too bad. Fiberglass boats can be repaired fairly easily," Millburn said.

On Saturday, wind speeds were clocked at over 100 kilometres per hour in some areas of Cape Breton.
