A school employee from Coldbrook, N.S. is facing a charge of theft over $5,000 after a financial audit of the school earlier this year found some irregularities.

Jacqueline Rhynard, 52, is facing the theft charge. On the school’s website, she is identified as a secretary in the main office.

In March 2013, the Annapolis Valley Regional School Board completed an audit of their finances and identified irregularities at the Northeast Kings Education Centre.

Following the audit RCMP, in cooperation with the school board, launched an investigation. The investigation determined that the thefts occurred over a four-year period.

According to their website, Rhynard is also the bookkeeper for the Valley African Nova Scotian Development Association.
