Tree hits man in Green Oaks workplace death

A 57-year-old Colchester man has died after he was struck by a tree at a work site on Tuesday, say RCMP.
A 57-year-old Colchester man has died after he was struck by a tree at a work site on Tuesday, say RCMP.

The Mounties were called at 11 a.m. to a wooded area on Riverside Road in Green Oaks, Colchester County.

The victim was cutting down a tree when it kicked back and struck him in the chest, said RCMP.

The man's name has not been released.

Investigators with the occupational health and safety division of the Department of Labour and Advanced Education are now in charge of the case.
