A 15-year-old boy has been charged with public mischief after allegedly vandalising the coffee shop in the Public Gardens.

A 15-year-old boy has been charged with public mischief after allegedly vandalising the coffee shop in Halifax’s Public Gardens.

A witness said two youths had smashed windows at Uncommon Grounds and then tipped a large planter before fleeing.

Officers said they found the teens on South Park Street just south of Spring Garden Road.

Uncommon grounds tweeted on Thursday morning that it was open as usual.

"Coffee is on, #StoryTime at 10:30. No 15 year olds allowed"
