Street racing teen charged with dangerous driving
Man, 21, sent to hospital with non-life threatening injuries following crash during street race
Annapolis District RCMP have charged a 17-year-old boy with dangerous driving after a crash during an alleged street race.
Police said Thursday around 5 p.m.. police, fire and emergency crews were called to a single vehicle crash on Parker Mountain Road.
Their preliminary investigation revealed that a Honda Civic travelling southbound lost control and crashed into a hydro pole.
Police said the driver of the Civic was racing on the road with a Chevrolet Cavalier just before the crash. The 21-year-old driver of the Honda Civic was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries and was later released.
The 17-year-old driver of the Cavalier was later arrested for dangerous driving. He was released into the custody of his parents and will appear in court in October.Police said the investigation continues and more charges are anticipated.
