Teenager facing numerous charges in Halifax crash
A couple and their baby were taken to hospital after they were struck by a stolen car fleeing police.
The ordeal began when police stopped a car on Brunswick Street Thursday at about 9:15 p.m.
Halifax Regional Police said the driver sped away but crashed and flipped over on North Street, striking another vehicle.
The driver escaped, police said, but he was arrested soon after.
A man, woman and infant were inside the second vehicle. Police said they suffered non-life-threatening injuries and were taken to the QEII Health Sciences Centre for treatment.
Police said the crashed car had been reported stolen earlier in the day.
A teenaged boy is due in court Friday to face charges of:
- Possession of a stolen vehicle,
- Dangerous driving causing bodily harm,
- Flight from police,
- Leaving the scene of an accident,
- Violating probation.
