Premier Stephen McNeil is leading a Nova Scotia business delegation to Asia today in a trip aimed at promoting trade.

McNeil's group will spend 11 days visiting China, South Korea and Japan. The province says Nova Scotia exports to China amounted to $420 million in 2015, making it the province's third-biggest export market.

In April, the Liberal leader announced a five-year plan for strengthening Nova Scotia's ties to China. He said then that he also wanted to draw more Chinese students to Nova Scotia.
